Healthy energy drinks

Today, we are not only consuming too much coffee, but we are also adding high-caffeine energy drinks to the mix. But too much caffeine in one day can lead to undesired side effects.
We are constantly looking for ways to boost our energy, because of how life in general has a tendency to burn them faster than ever before. The pace of life, work, school, stress etc. may leave us feeling drained at the end of the day. But forget all about coffee and energy drinks – if you really need that energy boost, look no further than a tall glass of water as dehydration can make us feel exhausted, tired and even slow down our metabolism.

So, try one of these three healthy and hydrating drink recipes that will help you boost energy levels and zest up your day!

They are healthy and easy to make.

1st - Super Energizer Smoothie

Ingredients

Makes one serving
1/2 cup cold water
2 scoops of chocolate whey protein powder
1 tsp. granulated coffee
3-4 frozen strawberries
5 ice cubes
500 mg glutamine

Directions

Pour water into blender and begin mixing on lowest speed. Add 2 scoops of whey protein powder and blend for 10 seconds.

Gradually add ice cubes, frozen fruit, coffee and glutamine and then blend on high speed for 1 minute, until ingredients are completely mixed. Serve cold!

2nd - Pineapple-Mint Infused Water

Ingredients

Makes 8 servings
1/4 pineapple
6-8 mint leaves
10 cups of water
1 tsp. lemon juice

Directions

Add 10 cups water into pitcher or large bowl. Peel and cut pineapple into triangles, and pour pineapple and mint leaves into water.

Refrigerate ingredients for at least 3 hours before drinking, and strain before serving. Keep refrigerated up to 2 days.

3rd - Luscious Lemon and Lime Water

Ingredients

Makes 8 servings
8 cups water
2 lemons
1 lime

Directions

Pour 8 cups water in pitcher or large bowl. Wash lemons and limes, cut into thin slices and add to water.

And remember there is nothing wrong with a cup of coffee a day, but as in so many areas of our lives, it's about moderation and finding the right balance.
